Claudiu Bularda is a lawyer specializing in criminal law at Sandru Avocati and is a member of the Bucharest Bar Association. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, focusing his scientific research on understanding international jurisdictions and aspects of judicial cooperation in criminal law, completing his thesis titled ‘Tax Havens’.
His passion for transnational criminal law led him to continue his academic pursuits by obtaining several certifications recognized at the European level. He is also pursuing master’s degrees in ‘Criminal Sciences’ at the Faculty of Law (University of Bucharest), and ‘Criminal Sciences and Forensics’ at the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences (UAB).
He has published several specialized articles on topics of interest, such as ‘Potential violations of fundamental rights. A reason for suspension of extradition’, addressing a complex theme in the context of international judicial cooperation in ‘Dreptul’ Magazine No. 9/2023.
Claudiu is a member of the European Criminal Bar Association and a member-lawyer in the specialty commission within STEPPO – Jean Monnet – European Union Centre of Excellence. Moreover, he is the only Romanian lawyer who participated in the 2023 Annual Advance Seminar on International Extradition and the EAW.
